When some of the scribes and Pharisees asked Jesus to give them a sign, He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign!” (Matthew 12:39)

The religious leaders refused to believe Jesus’ words, even though He spoke with the authority of God. Time and time again, they demanded a sign or miracle as proof that He was who He claimed to be. They could not simply trust His words. How crazy is that? The Son of God stood right in front of them, yet they still wanted something more.

We must be careful not to fall into the same trap. Instead of constantly waiting for a sign from God, we should recognize the many ways He has already revealed Himself. Sometimes, asking for more signs is simply a way of delaying obedience. The Lord may be waiting for us to take a step of faith and fully trust Him.

Jesus is all around us. He is revealed through conversations with fellow believers, the pages of Scripture, the worship songs we hear, and even through the comics and messages shared through Draw For God. What more could we ask God to do so that we can see Him? Through the ultimate sacrifice, Jesus gave His life for us, loves us, and invites us into a relationship with Him. He is the greatest sign we will ever need.
