Just as our physical body needs its organs and parts to function, so does the body of Christ. Without certain parts of our body, normal function becomes a difficult challenge and the body suffers.
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. – Romans 12:4-5
We belong to the body of Christ which is the church. In order for the church to grow, work in unity and remain strong, God gives us all talents, strengths and specific abilities to serve Him and one another. God knows exactly where He needs you in His church and He calls on you. (1 Corinthians 12:24-27) Listen for His call because each body part cannot exist on its own.
The Christian flag illustrates the same message of unity and was designed to give honor to Jesus. White stands for purity and peace; blue represents truth, fidelity, and baptism; and red symbolizes the blood shed by Christ on the cross. The flag represents all of Christianity without regard to denomination. Anyone that gives theirs lives to Christ, pledges their loyalty and joins other brothers and sisters to become chosen parts of His church.
