No matter how great my sin, Jesus’ love is greater. The weight of my sin was more than I could carry, but Jesus carried it all to the cross. And when sin brought me down, God was there to lift me up.
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. (Ephesians 2:4-5)
