Darkness does not always welcome light, especially when that light exposes what has been hidden. When Jesus’ light shines through your life, it can bring comfort to some and conviction to others. Not everyone will respond the same way, and that can feel discouraging at times.
But Jesus never asked you to control the response, only to carry His light. Resistance does not mean you are failing. It often simply means the light is doing what light does.
So stay close to Jesus. Let Him shape your words, your actions, and your love. Keep walking in obedience even when it is not understood. You are not called to be received by everyone, you are called to reflect Him faithfully.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16)
