Psalm 3:7

In Psalm 3:7, David cries out, “Arise, O Lord, save me, my God,” which is both a desperate plea and a declaration of faith. Surrounded by enemies and feeling the weight of fear, David does not turn to his own strength but to the Lord who has delivered him before. The vivid image of God striking the enemies on the cheek and breaking their teeth is not about personal revenge but about God’s decisive power to silence those who oppose His people. In this verse we see the heart of prayer in times of trial: we call upon God to rise on our behalf, trusting that He alone has the authority to protect, to defend, and to bring victory over every force that seeks to destroy us.

Arise, Lord!
Deliver me, my God!
Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
break the teeth of the wicked.
Psalm 3:7
