🖤💰 Money is not the root of all evil. Its the LOVE of money that causes the problems. 1 Timothy 6:10 states, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” This scripture explains how greed can easily overcome, distract and pull people away from the love of God. The constant craving to gain money for things causes nothing but terrible agony.

In the book of Matthew, Jesus tells us, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” (Matthew 6:24) In other Bible translations, another word used for money is “mammon”. The meaning of mammon is similar to possessions, wealth, riches, gluttony, greed, and dishonest worldly gain.

Ultimately, mammon can be described as an idol of materialism all of which can come from the love and desire of money. Do not replace God with money and material things. Without the love of God, how rich can you possibly ever be?
