A rough sketch process of “Spit You Out” by Draw For God.
When Jesus addressed the church of Laodicea, He made it very easy for them to understand His warning. Neighboring cities had sources of water which were either hot from steaming springs or cold from refreshing streams. Because Laodicea didn’t have a water source, they had to bring it into the city via aqueducts. By the time the water arrived, it was lukewarm and full of foul-tasting minerals. Bleh!
Jesus compared their deeds and love for Him to this unpleasing lukewarm water. They were in the middle…not hot, not cold. Because of this, Jesus said that He is about to spit them out in disgust.
So, because you are lukewarm–neither hot nor cold–I am about to spit you out of my mouth. – Revelation 3:16
Is your walk with the Lord pleasing to Him or is it ho-hum and lukewarm? Take some time to seriously think about your journey. Turn away from living a lukewarm Christian life and ask God to light your fire! We are all part of that church in Laodicea and we are not exempt to being spit out.
