Paul was not speaking about symbolic scars or shallow religious identity. He carried real marks from faithfully following Christ, wounds from persecution, suffering, beatings, and sacrifice for the Gospel.
From now on, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. – Galatians 6:17
This verse is a powerful reminder that true faith often comes with a cost. Following Jesus is not always comfortable or popular, but a life surrendered to Christ will leave evidence behind. Maybe not physical scars for everyone, but spiritual fruit, perseverance, humility, obedience, and endurance through trials.
The world leaves marks on people, but so does Jesus.
May we live in such a way that our lives clearly show who we belong to. Let our words, actions, sacrifices, and faithfulness reflect the One we follow.
