Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control make up the Fruit of the Spirit. There are not nine different fruits, it is a nine-part fruit. Imagine the Fruit of the Spirit is like an orange, and inside it there are multiple sections which represent the aspects of the Fruit of the Spirit.
The original Greek word for “fruit” is “karpos”, and could mean “a result of something.” When the Fruit of the Spirit is displayed in our lives, it is a result that we are being led by the Holy Spirit and Christ dwells in us.
We are also told there is “no law against them.” We can exhibit the Fruit of the Spirit without any limits or restrictions. We can never show too much love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control!
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. – Galatians 5:22-23
Christ in us the hope of Glory, less of us Lord more of you.
