Last work week was rough for me. Being weighed down with numerous projects and pressured with demanding deadlines, it only took a few things to go wrong and I found myself feeling overwhelmed and irritable. I felt like I could blow up and just wanted to scream at the next thing that came my way!
Thankfully, as soon as the anger tries to consume me, I feel the peace of the Lord sweep over me like a refreshing, cool breeze on a hot day. Jesus gives me the kind of peace that only He can provide and I start to drift back into reality. Instead of acting out on emotions, the Spirit reminds me to go straight to prayer and I find tranquility there.
This illustration of me flipping over a desk is only what I think about doing when I am angry but because of the Prince of Peace, I don’t give into the rage and temptation. Do you ever get frustrated at your job or with work in general? How you personally handle any anger that may come from it?
Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end. – Proverbs 29:11
